Seminar by Mr Vinod Rao “The rise of quantumania in communication and computing”

Abstract:  

The theory of quantum mechanics led us to discover the various phenomenon in nature over almost a century. The advent of quantum mechanics had impact on many branches of physics, from particle phyiscs & cosmology to condensed matter & thermodynamics. This talk focuses on the change in information transfer and processing that happened by using quantum principles. With a brief intorduction in differentiaitng information transfer & processing using
classical and quantum principles, the recent research work carried out in quantum communication at PPISR is highlighted. A note is also made on the necessity of quantum principles in regard to information security.
