Poornaprajna Institute of Scientific Research (PPISR), Bidlur, Bangalore District, was established in 1997 under the inspiration and guidance of the Founder President HH Sri Vibudhesha Theertha Swamiji as a center for fundamental and applied scientific research. Since HH Sri Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji's taking over as head of the Udupi Sri Admar Mutt Education Foundation (AMEF), the institute has been kindly guided by him.
PPISR is part of a large family of sister institutions, which also include the Poornaprajna Schools, the Poornaprajna Institute of Management and the Poornaprajna Institute of Faculty Improvement, governed by the Udupi Sri Admar Mutt Education Council (AMEC).
