The urgent need to provide robust facilities for research in the Pure Sciences has become unmistakably clear to anyone who cares for the future of this nation. Our brilliant youth, endowed with immense intellectual gifts, are compelled to leave our shores to pursue advanced research abroad. Once there, they contribute their talents to foreign lands and often settle there permanently, their potential never returning to enrich the soil that nurtured them. Until we arrest this steady drain of our finest minds, India cannot hope to achieve genuine and self-sustaining progress in any field worthy of her ancient heritage and future promise. It is precisely to address this profound national challenge that we have envisioned the Poornaprajna Institute of Scientific Research (PPISR), an institution to be established under the guidance and mentorship of many eminent scientists of this country– those who have chosen to remain and serve here, and whose wisdom will ensure that this endeavor stands on a foundation of excellence.
The principle is simple and time-tested: the more a nation invests in science and technology, the stronger and more resilient that nation becomes– not merely in economic or military terms, but in its capacity to solve its own problems, to innovate from within, and to stand as a dignified equal among the community of advanced societies. Every rupee directed toward genuine research is a seed planted for generations to come. Yet such investment cannot be the work of government alone. It demands the participation of all who love this land and who recognize that India’s destiny is too precious to be left to chance or dependency. Therefore, I approach all well-wishers of this country– whether in positions of wealth, influence, or simple goodwill—to extend whatever assistance they possibly can to this sacred project. Let it be known that by helping India stand on her own feet in science, you help India better serve the entire world, sharing not only her spiritual wisdom but also her material knowledge for the upliftment of all humanity.
In this noble undertaking, I pray for divine guidance of Shri Krishna at every step, knowing that true knowledge is a reflection of the Lord’s own intelligence manifest in creation. May the Almighty, the source of all laws that science humbly discovers, grant us the necessary strength, resources, and unwavering resolve to develop this institute as a beacon of light. May He bless this endeavor so that it may serve not narrow interests but the highest good—the benefit of the nation and, through her, the benefit of the entire world. With these prayers and this appeal, I place the Poornaprajna Institute of Scientific Research at the feet of the Lord and in the hands of every compassionate patriot. May His will be done through our collective effort.
