Mathematics and Theoretical Physics

Overview

The group explores problems in condensed matter physics, quantum information theory and number theory.

Understanding how quantum features shape the world we see around us can be described in the language of information theory and can be exploited to perform computation in novel ways, is the goal of quantum information and computation theory. Condensed matter physics, which broadly covers such diverse areas as many-body physics and nanoscience, has proved to be a rich playground for studying quantum effects. These areas are of interest to the group, as well as exploring entanglement (non-classical correlations) dynamics and quantum information processing in condensed matter systems.

In mathematics, the main areas of research are diophantine equations and elliptic curve.
