Poornaprajna Institute of Scientific Research (PPISR), a unit of Admar Mutt Education Foundation (AMEF), was conceptualized in 1998 by the then Pontiff of Admar Mutt His Holiness, the late Sri Vibudhesha Theertha Swamiji, as a center where scientists would be involved solely in research and training doctoral students. This program is presently enthusiastically carried forward by the present Chairman of AMEF, HH Sri Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji, and HH Sri Eeshapriya Theertha Swamiji.

The institute is recognized by DSIR, Govt. of India,  and MAHE, Karnataka, as an R&D centre. Research at PPISR is pursued broadly under three divisions: Biological Sciences  |  Materials Sciences  | Theoretical Sciences.

Upcoming: 1 ) PPISR researchers will conduct a 2-day university-level workshop in biology, chemistry and physics, "Recent Advances in Scientific Research: A Glimpse" at Poornaprajna College and Post-Graduate Center, Udupi -on Dec 5--6, 2018.

Recent 2)  PPISR joined Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology in conducting the National Science Fest 2018 on Nov 16, 2018.
