INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP AT PPISR

In January 2009 an International Workshop will take place at PPISR in one of the frontier areas of theoretical physics. This area is called 'Strong Interaction Physics' and represents one of the most challenging area of physics. The subject had its inception in trying to understand the nature of nuclear forces. After many decades of intense research including large scale supercomputing, there remain many outstanding problems.

The workshop will be attended by active researchers in the area from India as well as abroad. A dozen prominent scientists are coming from Europe, USA and Japan. Young scientists from the so called 'Third World' countries are being encouraged to attend.

All the participants will be staying at the beautiful Bidalur campus of PPISR.
